MCCLURE TWINS' FATHER & HIS OLD RACIST TWEETS !
I always say one thing... this is the wrong era to behave like a jerk. The time when you could misbehave and get away with it is over. Thanks to cell phones and social media, we have seen a slew of incidents in recent times where a person's bad behaviour has been recorded and they end up being shamed, sacked from their jobs or even arrested if the act is considered criminal. There is a particular family I came across earlier in the year on social media - The McClures. They consist of a White American Dad Justin, his Nigerian wife Ami and their adorable children; twins Ava & Alexis and little son Jersey. I actually became aware of them first because of the twins who have a burgeoning modeling career and a popular Youtube channel. I love them because the kids are cute and they as a family are quite funny and entertaining.
“White guys are typically more cautious, laid back, and considerate of women. White guys might see a hot black girl at a bar or something, but talk themselves out of approaching because Anderson Cooper comes on in 30 minutes. They have to get home. Black and Spanish men lifting weights on the corner don’t even know who Anderson Cooper is, but they hope he buys their new mix tape. In New York City I’ve seen black and Spanish men sing to women on the street, saw a black man with bags of groceries chase a woman down many blocks (he had ice cream too), and one time I saw a Spanish guy jump the subway tracks to get to the other side in effort to talk to a girl. When he got there the girl wasn’t interested. He came back across the tracks and waited for his train like it never happened. Kid you not. Black women have never been opposed to dating white men (for the most part) so when they get an email from a cute chalky boy they are like “He’s cute. I’ll definitely go out with him”, but on the street that would have never happen because the white guy would be too busy thinking about TED talks or buying books off Amazon.com to notice the sister. White guys don’t make the moves in person. So Caucasian guys if you want to date a black girl or curvy Spanish chick, get online. Send some emails. Talk about how you love piƱatas and Fubu, whatever it takes.”
So you can imagine my shock when I woke up a couple of days ago to see that the father had been accused of making racist tweets about Black people! I was like: 'Whaat?! Racist tweets! C'mon! His wife is a lovely dark chocolate brown (like me) and his children are biracial. How could he possibly make racist tweets?
Well, on further investigation I saw the tweets were made several years ago when Justin as a single guy was trying to be a comedian. Here are some of the Tweets;
*Sigh! And there is more... He apparently had a blog and in one of the posts he wrote this about interracial dating:

Well... what can I say? He has since issued an apology explaining that these entries were made several years back when he was a very different person etc... (See his apology here)
You know... I'm torn. I do feel appalled that those views were made in the first place. Before people tweet, you really need to ask yourself what is your intention, what your point is and whether it will benefit anyone... I know they were made a long time ago but then... I put it down to ignorance and stupidity. I do hope he has learnt his lesson and grown from this because he does seem contrite. It seems however that not everyone is so willing to forgive him and sweep it under the rug and have made their feelings known in the comments section of his Instagram handle. So what do you think? Do you think he should be let off the hook and his apology accepted?
