C.J OBASI PREMIERES NEW SHORT FILM 'HELLO RAIN' AT INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL, OBERHAUSEN, GERMANY!
I am very happy to announce that my (social media) friend & colleague C.J.Obasi's film 'Hello, Rain' has been selected to screen at the International Short film festival, Oberhausen, Germany on the 6th of May.
C.J. Obasi is a young man that has always intrigued me... though we have met briefly I look forward to really meeting him & unmasking the mind behind the mask. The maverick director, instead of going with the grain, seems to prefer instead to forge his own path and do things 'his way' which may seem risky to some but somehow ends up paying off in a big way, for him.
C.J Obasi when he won an AMVCA Award for Ojuju (2015)
Not everyone can do that but then what is life if you do not take risks? His first movie, 'Ojuju' a feature about a zombie apocalypse taking place in Nigeria, gained critical acclaim and won him several awards both home and abroad.
He followed that up with a gritty gangster flick 'O'Town which was also well received. Now he is out with another movie 'Hello Rain' - an short film adaptation of a story by acclaimed writer Nnedi Okoroafor.
Now his new film which he calls an 'afro-futuristic short film' will have its world premiere at the 64th International Short film festival in Oberhausen, Germany.
I look forward to hear more good things from this brilliant young man.
