The African Renaissance Monument - a
49 meter tall bronze statue located in Dakar, Senegal. Built
overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the Ouakam suburb, the statue was
designed by the Senegalese architect Pierre Goudiaby
I noticed it started a couple of years ago with the love & acceptance of Nigerian music & dance steps, love of Ankara material, African jewelry, natural hairstyles etc now it has crossed over to films e.g Black Panther. Anyway I just got wind of this new Nigerian-American authour that goes by the name Tomi Adeyemi who has written a book titled The Children of Blood and Bone.

This book draws upon African (Nigerian) history and
mythology following Zélie Adeola, a rebel princess, on her journey to
rise up against the crown prince and bring magic back to her home; all
the while struggling to keep her own power under control. This is said to be the first installment of
the fantasy trilogy and she has received a 7 figure book deal for this! Niiice! That's not all, Fox 2000 has now nabbed the film rights so we should expect to see a movie of it in the nearest figure! Hmm... that's the Black Panther effect y'all! Lol. First Helen Oyeyemi, then Nnedi Okoroafor now Tomi Adeyemi. Way to go, Girls. Nollywood actor Bobby Michaels along with the rest of his family held a memorial for their late mother, Chief Charity Adannaya Onwu-Otuyelu , this past Sunday 11th of March at Amaigbo, Imo state . Though she transitioned a little over 6 months ago, her children decided to host family and friends to an awesome day of song and dance in memory of the great woman who gave her all to her children and to humanity.

I always say one thing... this is the wrong era to behave like a jerk. The time when you could misbehave and get away with it is over. Thanks to cell phones and social media, we have seen a slew of incidents in recent times where a person's bad behaviour has been recorded and they end up being shamed, sacked from their jobs or even arrested if the act is considered criminal. There is a particular family I came across earlier in the year on social media - The McClures. They consist of a White American Dad Justin , his Nigerian wife Ami and their adorable children; twins Ava & Alexis and little son Jersey . I actually became aware of them first because of the twins who have a burgeoning modeling career and a popular Youtube channel.
