GOOGLE LAUNCHES FREE WiFi SPOTS IN NIGERIA AMONG OTHER THINGS!

Google has announced during its second Google for Nigeria event, 'Google Station for Nigeria' that it will now provide high quality, high speed WiFi hotspots around Lagos!

Anjali Joshi, VP Product Management at Google

According to Anjali Joshi, VP Product Management at Google, the program will fix connectivity challenges in the country. It is being launched in partnership with 21st Century Technologies; a Nigerian fibre network provider.
The free Wi-Fi hotspots are currently available at the Landmark Centre, The Palms Mall, Ikeja Mall, MMA2 Domestic Airport Terminal, all in Lagos State.
Anjali said Google Station for Nigeria  is expected to reach 200 locations across 5 cities by the end of 2019. See more on this here. https://africa.googleblog.com/2018/07/google-for-nigeria-making-internet-more_68.html Hmm... I don't know abut you but I'm always a bit wary about 'free' stuff. Maybe I'm just a big conspiracy theorist but all I see is farming of personal information, browsing habits and histories and possible sharing of personal information with authorities.. remember a little company called Facebook? https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/mar/28/all-the-data-facebook-google-has-on-you-privacy but what do I know? Just minding my business, living my life as I deem fit.
